英文當中的日期、時間、數字這種小小小地方常常被大家忽略，平常可以覺得講得差不多聽得懂就好，但到了考試或寫正式信件突然不知道怎麼書寫，尤其是考多益、雅思、托福考試最愛考這種小細節，為了這些本該拿分的題目失分就太可惜了，整理給大家看看到底該怎麼說/寫。

在英文中，可以先說日期也可以先說月份：
1 月 1 日 = The first of January / January the first.
2 月 2 號 = The second of February / February the second
記得在說日期時要使用序數詞
(The first, the second, the third, the fourth, the fifth, the sixth, the seventh, the eighth, the ninth, the tenth, the twenty-second, the thirty-first etc.)
考試中要寫日期我發現一個最不容易錯的方式就是，例如1月15日 寫出: January 15，這樣既不會搞混哪個是月哪個是日，也不用寫序數，尤其聽力測驗中可以更輕鬆拿分。
年份
在 2000 年之前的年份，可以把四個數字分成兩部分說：
1965 = nineteen sixty-five
1871 = eighteen seventy-one
1999 = nineteen ninety-nine
2000年之後的年份，要說 “two thousand and …”：
2001 = two thousand and one
2009 = two thousand and nine
2011 之後 可拆兩部分
two thousand eleven 或 twenty-eleven
2025 = two thousand and twenty-five, 或 twenty twenty-five
算術Calculations
加 + (plus)
2 + 1 = 3 (two plus one equals three)
減 – (minus / take away)
5 – 3 = 2 (five minus three equals two / five take away three equals two)
乘 x (multiplied by / times)
2 x 3 = 6 (two multiplied by three equals six / two times three equals six)
除 / (divided by)
6 / 3 = 2 (six divided by three equals two)
如何說數字 0 ?
根據語境的不同，有很多種說法來表達數字0：
2-0 (football) = Two nil
30 – 0 (tennis) = Thirty love
604 7721 (phone number) = six oh four…
0.4 (a number) = nought point four / zero point four
0℃ (temperature) = zero degrees Celsius 攝氏 0 度
0℉ (temperature) = zero degrees Fahrenheit 華氏 0 度
個十百千萬
相比較中文當中的“個十百千萬億”這種，英語裡的數字單位會有些不同，比如我們的 “萬” 這個概念，英語裡則是 “十千” ten thousand，“億”則是“百百萬”—— a hundred million，最簡單想的方法就是用是數字裡的小逗號去分
ten thousand: 一萬 10,000 ( 10 個一千，後面以此類推)
a hundred thousand: 十萬 100,000
a million: 一百萬 1,000,000
ten million: 一千萬 10,000,000
a hundred million: 一億 100,000,000
a billion: 十億 1,000,000,000
ten billion: 一百億
a hundred billion: 一千億
a trillion: 一萬億
注意，hundred, thousand不加s：除了thousands of 英語裡具體數字涉及 hundred, thousand都不加 S
例如:
3000 是three thousand;
30000 是thirty thousand;
30 萬是 300 hundred thousand 都不加S ; Million 和 billion 也是相同邏輯
表達幾位數
single-digit number: 一位數
double-digit number: 兩位數
three-digit number: 三位數
千位數：書面、口語表達方式
不同像 1500 這樣的，千位百位都是有數字，個位十位都是零的數字，口語中常常把前兩位按十位數念出來，再加上hundred。
1500即 fifteen hundred (口語)，跟朋友口語聊天中就代替那種 one thousand and five hundred (書面)—數學課上，數學老師的念法
6600即 sixty-six hundred(口語)，代替six thousand and six hundred(書面)
但如果是整千的數字，也就是百位數是零的話，比如5000，就不能說成“fifty hundred”，而應該念“five thousand”。
不是整百或整十的數字怎麼念? 竅門是遇到四位數以上的數字，我們先遵循英語千、萬…的表達方法，接著把剩下的數字放在一起念：
例如:
1,555: fifteen hundred and fifty five 或 one thousand five hundred and fifty-five
15,555: fifteen thousand five hundred and fifty five
155 ,555: a hundred fifty-five thousand five hundred and fifty five
629：six hundred twenty-nine(口語,書面)
竅門就是從右往左數三位，留下幾位再跟正常的數字讀，就是分兩段啦!
比如 155555，從右往左數，155 -555，分成兩段啦：第一段 155 念 one hundred and fifty-five 後面再加一個 thousand 就好
第二段就是 555，念 five hundred and fifty five 所以如果沒有到百萬 million 的單位，都是按照 thousand 和 hundred 單位來計算!
價格
一般表達價格的時候，念法都會有所簡化。比如小數點(decimal point)就會直接省略，不用說point; 而dollar等錢的單位在口語裡也常常不說。
舉個例子
$9.30：nine thirty:
$9.40：nine forty:
$9.95：nine ninety-five:
$99.95：ninety-nine ninety-five:
price tag: 價標
dollar shops: 一元店
nine ninety-nine: $9.99

小數和分數
小於 1 的小數 (decimal)，最前面的零口語裡可以省略，比如 0.8 就是 point eight
分數 (fraction) 的念法和中文是反過來的，先唸分子(數字) 再唸分母 (序數)。比如 1/5 是 one fifth，3/5 是three fifth， 1/10 是one tenth，書寫的時候，後綴要加 th (序數)
小數：decimal
百分數：percentage
分數：fraction
1/4：one fourth/one quarter
1/2 (2/4)：one half (two fourths)
3/4：three fourths/three quarters
前面用數字/後面用序數
